Each time a page on your website doesn't load, an error message will be displayed to the site visitor. Since there are different errors, there are different pages that will appear, but what's common for all of them is that they're generic and probably shall have nothing in common with the design of your site, which can be irritating for any site visitor. That is the primary reason why hosting service providers have introduced a function referred to as Custom Error Pages. For a variety of different errors, website visitors shall see your customized content, which may be informative or humorous, depending on your personal preference, and which shall match the overall layout of your website, so the pages will not look like they aren't part of your Internet site at all. You can use this option for a variety of errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).
Custom Error Pages in Cloud Hosting
When you order a cloud hosting from us, you'll be able to set custom made error pages for your sites easily, as this feature is part of all of our plans. In case you choose the third option, you should just input the URL to the file that you've uploaded and save the change. Another way to set custom error pages is to create an .htaccess file in the domain or subdomain folder and to include a couple of lines of program code in it. If you do not have preceding experience or if you are simply not sure how to do that, you may just copy/paste the code from our Knowledge Base article on that matter.
